Sam Francis (1923-1994) career spanned approximately 50 years and
includes a staggering amount of paintings, drawings and prints, but it is his
classic works from the 1950s upon which his reputation rests. Major works
from Francis's heroic years in the 1950s are icons of Post-War art.

Gallery Delaive will exhibit a selection of works on canvas to celebrate
the upcoming publication of University of California Press. The renowned
University of California Press is a preeminent and innovative publisher of
American art history. California Press joined with the Sam Francis Foundation
to present a rich and innovative state-of-the-art Catalogue Raisonné.

The Sam Francis Catalogue Raisonné of Canvas and Panel Paintings promises
to be a vital research tool that will inspire similar projects in the years
to come.

The Sam Francis Catalogue Raisonné consists of an amply illustrated
volume and two spectacular DVDs, which together hold images of the more than
1,850 works documented to date, of which hundreds are reproduced for the
first time. The DVDs also include rare film of the artist at work. The volume
features William C. Agee's masterful essay, full documentation, and a
biographical timeline compiled by Debra Burchett-Lere.

Purchasers will have access to electronic updates mounted on the
Foundation's website as they become available, making Sam Francis the
premiere Catalogue Raisonné for twenty-first century readers.

At the worlds leading art and antiques Fair, the TEFAF in Maastricht,
Gallery Delaive will present this special selection of Sam Francis paintings
from 18-27 March, 2011.
