JIPH the First of Elsevier's Middle East Titles to be Selected for MEDLINE Indexing

AMMAN, Jordan, October 20, 2010 - Elsevier Middle East announces that the Journal of Infection and Public
Health (JIPH) has been selected for inclusion in MEDLINE, the premier
bibliographic database of the U.S. National Library of Medicine (NLM).
Citations for articles indexed, the indexing terms and the abstract printed
in the journal are now searchable using PubMed (www.pubmed.gov).
Indexing using the US National Library of Medicine's (NLM) advanced MeSH
terminology will be retroactive from Volume 1, Issue 1 (2008) of the journal.

"This news is very gratifying and underscores the hard work and
dedication of all Editorial Board members, as well as the contributions of
the authors," commented Ziad A. Memish, MD, FRCPC, FACP, JIPH
Editor-in-Chief. "MEDLINE recognition means that the contributions of
authors submitting their work to JIPH will now be viewed and cited more
widely than ever before and we anticipate that our indexed status will have
a very positive impact on manuscript submissions and international
readership."

"The Middle East is an increasingly important region for scholarly
research," Haifa Mughrabi, Director of Elsevier Middle East said. "JIPH is
the first title from our Middle East journal portfolio to achieve this goal
through the hard work and dedication of the editorial board."

JIPH is the official publication of the Saudi Arabian National Guard
Health Affairs, and King Saud bin Abdulaziz University for Health Sciences
and the Saudi Association for Public Health. The journal aims to be the
foremost scientific, peer-reviewed journal encompassing infection prevention
and control, microbiology, infectious diseases, public health and the
application of healthcare epidemiology to the evaluation of health outcomes.
The point of view of the journal is that infection and public health are
closely intertwined and that advances in one area will have positive
consequences on the other.
