Russia and Britain Celebrated 9 May Victory Day on Board HMS Belfast, London

MOSCOW and LONDON, May 13, 2010 - Russo-British 65th Anniversary Victory Day celebration took place on
board HMS Belfast in London on Sunday 9 May 2010 with over 200 people
present. The ceremony was opened by the organizer, Chairman of Finance &
Investment Markets Players Club (www.kifir.info), Eugene Kasevin, who
delivered the message of greetings from Her Majesty The Queen Elizabeth II to
all participants of the celebration.

His Excellency Yury Fedotov, the Ambassador of Russian Federation in the
UK on behalf of Russian government, awarded seventeen British veterans of
Arctic Convoys the Russian medal of 65th Anniversary of Victory. Among
honourable guests was the parliamentary Under-Secretary for Security and
Counter-terrorism Lord Alan West.

As a third-year tradition, the event included the Minute silence, Russian
and British anthems from the Royal Signals Band, HMS Belfast 4-inch guns
salute and "Up Spirits!" with Pusser's Rum.

Three Russian veterans from Arkhangelsk - Yury Kopytov, Georgy Evtyukov
and Nikolay Kireychev - joined their British allied friends on board HMS
Belfast.

Later, the Russian Ambassador stated that the joint Russo-British Victory
Day Celebration was held "in a warm and heartfelt atmosphere where all guests
and awarded veterans were profoundly pleased with the attention they
received". The British Ambassador in Moscow, Anne Pringle, noted that she was
pleased with the way our two countries joined their efforts in celebrating
the WW2 Victory Day. Other people, who spoke at the event were HMS Belfast
Director Phil Reed, Peter Hambro (Petropavlovsk Plc), Oleg Pankratov (VTB
Capital Plc), Igor Serov (United Industrial Corporation) and Andrey Fomichev
(JSC Shipbuilding plant <<Severnaya verf>>).
