Turkcell Technology needed a highly available and scalable complex event processing solution that could support a huge volume of network data and capture real-time streaming information from mobile networks.
Turkcell Technology chose components of Oracle Fusion Middleware 11g (www.oracle.com/middleware) , including Oracle Complex Event Processing to create a solution that can process multiple event streams to detect patterns and trends in real time and Oracle Coherence (www.oracle.com/us/products/middleware/coherence/index.html) to provide scalability and reliability for high-performance event-driven applications.
The solution is deployed at Turkcell, Europe’s third and the world’s 16th largest mobile operator, which handles more than 33 million subscribers and 2 billion events daily.
Operating at extreme scale, Turkcell handles more than 300 million SMS text messages in a day with more than 16,000 SMS messages per second during peak times.
With the Oracle-based solution, Turkcell is able to identify and predict trends based on real-time subscriber events from mobile devices with SMS text message temporal relevance to provide customers with a wide range of targeted services and promotions – when and where they are most relevant.
Turkcell is now able to do real-time pattern matching to identify which subscribers are at a specific location and then offer them relevant location-based offerings.
The solution is also available to mobile operators that work with Turkcell Technology in the CIS, Russian Federation, Middle East, Africa and Europe.
