- With More than 150 New Features, WebNative Suite 17 Offers More Control and Accessibility

Xinet® Inc., the leader in digital asset management (www.xinet.com), today announced the release of Xinet WebNative® Suite 17.0. Available now, the highly anticipated release boasts a new look and feel in the display interface, while offering expanded search engine capabilities, more customization, and new tools that make it easier than ever for companies to improve collaboration while maintaining tight control over their assets. WebNative Suite 17 also provides optimized support for mobile devices such as the Apple iPad, making the WebNative interface easily accessible from anywhere, at anytime.

“WebNative Suite is a key component of our workflow and I’m excited that Xinet continues to innovate and improve its products,” said Mitch Turner, manager of publishing production systems at Courier, the third-largest book manufacturer in the United States. “With a slick new interface, new features like Uploader Distributor which take a lot of work off my plate, and faster searching for large queries, the new WebNative Suite will improve how end-users and administrators interact with the system.”

One of the major new features of WebNative Suite 17 is the expanded search capability, which not only expedites searches but also provides more searching options. Users can search on text content in a variety of file types including HTML, PDF, Adobe InDesign, Photoshop, QuarkXPress and Microsoft Office documents. The matching text will be highlighted and viewable in a simple and straightforward interface. Users can also narrow or expand the scope of their searches by selecting from a wide array of search criteria such as file events, creator, technical specs for videos and more, while also excluding folders and volumes from searches. Searching through different files is now even quicker and easier.

Version 17 now provides seamless integration between Asset Browser and Annotations for Adobe InDesign, Photoshop and Illustrator files, improving workflow efficiency. New Asset Browser functionality allows users to import review comments made with the Annotations tool as layers within the source file to facilitate a more productive workflow and simplify the review process, decreasing the chance for errors.

New administrator tools such as the Uploader Distributor save administrators time and further improve efficiency. Uploader, one of the most popular tools among users, enables off-site users to upload deliverables right to the WebNative server without granting them direct access. Previously, each Uploader had to be configured and distributed by an administrator but with the new tool WebNative users can request their own custom Uploader and download it directly from the server. Also new with this release is a tool that allows administrators to delegate portions of administration tasks to select users. This allows trusted users to take on certain tasks, while keeping other administrative options hidden from their view. Administrators have the ability to enable privileges on a per-user basis.

“The new capabilities in WebNative Suite were designed to address the needs of our customers to efficiently manage various asset types in today’s multimedia world - whether they are video, PDF or CAD files. With WebNative Suite 17, Xinet delivers a digital asset management system that is powerful but more intuitive and customizable than ever before,” said Scott Seebass, CEO of Xinet.

Other new features include:

  • More robust functionality for Asset Timer with tighter control over expired assets.
  • New triggers and actions to automate workflows that use annotations, document versioning and more.
  • Faster, simpler creation of customized sites for users worldwide.
  • An updated GUI that consolidates key features and simplifies user access to easily manage annotations and approvals; create and order custom images; identify links between documents and assets; view file information; work with metadata; set default page previews; manage document versioning; zoom in on text or graphics and more.

A reliable digital asset management solution that not only manages graphic assets but also automates trafficking, notification and collaboration, WebNative Suite enables customers to see rapid payback on their DAM investment in time and cost savings. Xinet has thousands of installations worldwide with customers across all major industries. Xinet customers include McCann Erickson, Young & Rubicam, Starkey Laboratories, Macy’s, and Wilson Sporting Goods.
