NEWTOWN SQUARE, Pennsylvania, February 22, 2010 - Project Management Institute (PMI), the world's leading professional
membership organization for project managers, announced that A Guide to the
Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK(R) Guide)-Fourth Edition is now
available in Brazilian Portuguese, Spanish, Chinese, Japanese, Korean,
French, and Italian. The PMBOK(R) Guide is an internationally recognized
standard that gives project managers the essential tools they need to
practice project management and deliver organizational results. In addition
to English and the seven other languages that are now published, the PMBOK(R)
Guide will soon be available in three additional languages: Arabic, German
and Russian.

According to respondents of PMI's 2009 Pulse of the Profession survey, up
to 51% of the projects they manage span multiple countries and/or continents.
This trend toward globalization requires that project managers, regardless of
location and language barriers, work with a common set of methodologies and
best practices in order to ensure optimal project outcome and maximum ROI.
PMI's PMBOK(R) Guide is recognized as the global standard for project
management as it contains the fundamental practices that all project managers
need to attain high standards for project excellence. The PMBOK(R) Guide is
found in top business schools, corporate training centers and on the desk of
hundreds of thousands of working project managers in all industries all over
the world. Including previous editions and official translations, there are
more than three million copies in circulation.

PMI's translation verification process is a rigorous endeavor that
involves cross-cultural teams of project management professionals from all
over the world who thoroughly test and verify the accuracy of the PMBOK(R)
Guide translations. Doing so ensures that the PMBOK(R) Guide's principles are
communicated in a precise, accurate vernacular that enables project managers
to consistently achieve PMI's standard of project success within their own
unique cultures and organizations and as part of global teams, projects and
programs.

The PMBOK(R) Guide-Fourth Edition is available for purchase in these
languages on PMI's Web site
