The North Pole has now been made wheelchair accessible. On April 11, 2009 a disabled parking sign was raised at the North Pole on the 100th anniversary of the first successful polar expedition. David Shannon became the first person in world history with quadriplegia and in a wheelchair to reach the Pole. He along with expedition co-leader and fellow Canadian, Chris Watkins, developed "Team Independence 09" to promote breaking barriers to accessibility and greater community inclusion.
PALO ALTO, California - Cell Biosciences, Inc., a provider of nanoproteomic analysis systems to life science researchers, today announced the publication of a landmark study by a research team from Stanford University School of Medicine. Dr. Dean W. Felsher, Associate Professor of Oncology, was senior author on the study. The publication, titled "Nano-fluidic proteomic assay for serial analysis of oncoprotein activation in clinical samples", appeared on April 12, 2009 as an Advance Online Publication in the prestigious journal Nature Medicine. In this work, the authors report on new methods for detecting small modifications in cancer-related proteins. Importantly, the exceptional sensitivity of the methods enabled oncoprotein studies in extremely small tumor samples derived from cancer patients. This work was performed using a protein analysis system from Cell Biosciences.
HANGZHOU, China - The 3-year dispute which resulted in a series of worldwide lawsuits between two beverage giants, China's Wahaha and Danone, the biggest international war in scale since China's reform and opening up, is expected to come to a close with the final verdict from the arbitration court in Sweden, of which both parties are quietly awaiting. Among numerous court cases worldwide, Wahaha had so far taken the upper hand by winning 21-0 of the Wahaha VS Danone cases.
