BERLIN, April 17, 2010 - As a result of the volcanic eruption in Iceland and the
volcanic ash that this has released into the atmosphere, the civil aviation
safety authorities have shut off major sections of European airspace and the
airports in Germany. It is not foreseeable when these restrictions will be
lifted. Upon the recommendation of the DFS (Deutsche Flugsicherung) Air
Berlin is cancelling all flights - except for some domestic Spanish flights -
until 2 a.m. on 18th April 2010 inclusive.

domestic Spanish flights - until 8 p.m. on 17th April 2010 inclusive.
