LONDON - Disability Alliance is publishing the Disability Rights Handbook this week. Now in its 34th edition, the Handbook provides comprehensive information and guidance on benefits and services for people with a disability or health condition. The new edition has been fully updated to reflect changes in the benefits system, including the introduction of employment and support allowance and its impact on other benefits, and an expanded section on income tax and VAT relief.

The Disability Rights Handbook is written for claimants and trusted by advisers, presenting complex information in a concise, straightforward and jargon-free way. It is of particular interest to those providing advice to disabled people, people with a disability or health problem, and people who care for someone with disabilities or special needs. The Handbook keeps people up to date, helping them to claim what’s due and assists advisers to ensure the quality of their advice. It has 290 A4 pages, is legally referenced, and its content is assured by DWP.

The Disability Rights Handbook costs GBP25 post free. People buying the Handbook for personal or family use who are in receipt of any benefit can buy the book at a concessionary price of GBP10 post free.

An accessible version of the Handbook is available on CD.
