PHILADELPHIA, October 12, 2010 - Elsevier, a world-leading publisher of scientific, technical and medical
information products and services, is pleased to announce that as of January
2011
Elsevier will publish The Journal of Molecular Diagnostics (JMD) in
partnership with the Association for Molecular Pathology (AMP) and the
American Society for Investigative Pathology (ASIP).

The Journal of Molecular Diagnostics, the official publication of the
Association for Molecular Pathology and co-owned by the American Society for
Investigative Pathology, publishes high-quality original papers on scientific
advances in the translation and validation of molecular discoveries in
medicine into the clinical diagnostic setting, and the description and
application of technological advances in the field of molecular diagnostic
medicine. Articles include studies in oncology, infectious disease, inherited
disease or predisposition to disease, as well as technical advances in
molecular diagnosis, and application of diagnostic methodologies in clinical
trials. Editor-in-Chief, Timothy J. O'Leary (Washington, DC), along with the
JMD's Associate Editors, Editorial Board, and contributing authors represent
many of the recognized authorities in the field.

"Elsevier is thrilled to partner with AMP and ASIP to publish the JMD.
The journal is at the forefront in publishing translational research and
technological advances in molecular medicine. We welcome the journal and the
societies into the Elsevier family," states Andrew Berin, Publishing
Director, Elsevier.

Dr. Mark E. Sobel, Executive Officer of both the Association for
Molecular Pathology and the American Society for Investigative Pathology,
states, "AMP and ASIP are confident that partnering with Elsevier will enable
us to further our goal of globally promoting clinical applications and
research in molecular pathology by expanding the reach and impact of the
high-quality articles published in The Journal of Molecular Diagnostics."

About The Association for Molecular Pathology

The Association for Molecular Pathology (AMP) is an international medical
professional association dedicated to the advancement, practice, and science
of clinical molecular laboratory medicine and translational research based on
the applications of molecular biology, genetics and genomics. Through the
efforts of an enthusiastic membership from across the United States and
around the world, AMP continues to grow in numbers and influence. The
organization is divided into the scientific subdivisions of genetics,
infectious diseases, hematopathology, and solid tumors. The AMP membership
includes individuals from academic medical centers, independent laboratories,
government, and industry, including physicians, laboratory directors,
scientists, medical technologists, and trainees. AMP members are at the
forefront of the development and implementation of novel molecular diagnostic
tests, whether these are laboratory developed or commercially developed. AMP
members proudly accept their responsibilities in assessing the analytical
validity, clinical validity, clinical utility, and the clinical utilization
of molecular tests for each specific patient. For more information, please

About The American Society for Investigative Pathology

The American Society for Investigative Pathology (ASIP) is an educational
professional not-for-profit society dedicated to the discovery, advancement,
and dissemination of basic and translational knowledge in experimental
pathology and related disciplines. This is achieved by fostering
investigation into the pathogenesis, classification, diagnosis, and
manifestations of disease through meetings, publications, and educational
activities. Investigative pathology is an integrative discipline that links
the presentation of disease in the whole organism to its fundamental cellular
and molecular mechanisms, using a variety of structural, functional, and
genetic techniques and ultimately applies research findings to the diagnosis
and treatment of diseases. ASIP advocates for the practice of investigative
pathology and fosters the professional career development and education of
its members. For more information, please visit: www.asip.org.
