Alasdair Balfour to Join Firm in London

LONDON, April 30, 2010 - Fried, Frank, Harris, Shriver & Jacobson LLP announced today that
Alasdair Balfour will join the Firm's antitrust practice as a partner on May
1, 2010
and will be based in the Firm's London office. He has extensive
experience advising in relation to European Commission and United Kingdom
antitrust and regulatory investigations across a broad range of industry
sectors, with a particular focus on merger control and cartel work. Mr.
Balfour was most recently a partner at Olswang LLP in London and previously
spent 10 years with Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer LLP in London, Brussels
and Washington, DC.
