LONDON, November 23, 2011 -

The UK’s fastest growing ‘green’ company has reached a significant milestone, having saved its clients £100 million in energy spend.

Typically, due to the design of the distribution network, buildings are supplied with higher voltage than is actually needed. powerPerfector’s green technology, works by improving electrical power quality and by supplying voltage at the most efficient level.

Thousands of sites in the UK have installed VPO and, when fitted in a typical commercial building, it cuts an average 11 per cent off the electricity bill instantly.

Allied to £100million in cost saving, the associated carbon savings are equal to 630,000 tonnes, the equivalent of turning off the power in Scotland for 13 days.

Angus Robertson, CEO of powerPerfector, said: “With fears of a recession there is a danger that the CRC Energy Efficiency Scheme and cutting carbon will fall down the business agenda.

“But cutting carbon fortunately means cutting costs, which is the only way, when markets are challenging, for many companies to post positive numbers. The £100m that we have saved for UK businesses is the equivalent of putting £100m on the bottom line, and it doesn’t include an annual reduction in exposure to the carbon tax of £2.25m.

“For business leaders, it is proof that there are some easy-wins on the tough road to cost saving and carbon reduction.”

Notes to Editors:

  1. powerPerfector is the world’s only Voltage Power Optimiser, giving energy, cost and  carbon savings by efficiently optimising a site’s supply voltage. By optimising the  voltage, electrical equipment runs more efficiently and consumes less energy.
  2. powerPerfector deals with the discrepancy between the actual supply voltage you receive (on average 242V in the UK) and the optimum voltage your electrical equipment needs (220V).
  3. The technology was developed in Japan in 1993 to combat rising energy costs due to increasing demand and a lack of natural energy resources.
  4. powerPerfector has been distributing the technology in the UK since 2001.
