International VELUX Award 2010 - Deadline for Registration Extended

The International VELUX Award Extends the Deadline for Registration Until 1 March 2010.

COPENHAGEN, January 22 - More than 800 students have already registered for participation in the
2010 Award. By extending the deadline from 1 February to 1 March, the
organizers wish to give students with semester start at the beginning of
February a chance to come back to school and register for the Award. The
Award challenges students of architecture worldwide to work with daylight in
architecture under the overall theme "Light of Tomorrow".

The International VELUX Award expects to announce the jury within the
next couple of weeks.

The International VELUX Award is organized in cooperation with the
International Union of Architects (UIA) and the European Association for
Architectural Education (EAAE). Students must register before 1 March 2010 to
be able to submit their project.

The International VELUX Award encourages students of architecture to
explore the theme of sunlight and daylight in its widest sense to create a
deeper understanding of this specific and ever relevant source of light and
energy. The International VELUX Award is presented every second year to
promote and celebrate excellence in completed study works in any scale from
small-scale components to large urban contexts or abstract concepts and
experimentation. The Award is global and open to any registered student of
architecture backed by a teacher from a school of architecture. The total
prize money is 30,000 Euro.
