BANGKOK -

The 6th Thailand International Logistics Fair 2009, the most comprehensive logistics trade show in South East Asia, is ready to take off at BITEC in Bangkok during September 9-13, 2009.

Organized by the Ministry of Commerce’s Department of Export Promotion (DEP) in cooperation with Thailand National Shippers’ Council (TNSC), Hazardous Substances Logistics Association (HASLA), and 14 supporting organizations, the event is set up to be a prominent platform for business matching and networking among logistics service providers and users across the South East Asia region, particularly those in the Greater Mekong Sub-region (GMS) that comprises Thailand, China, Myanmar, Laos, Cambodia, and Vietnam.

“This is a truly significant opportunity to show the world that Thailand has enough potential to be the ‘Hub of ASEAN Logistics Networks’ as we aim for,” said Mr. Alongkorn Ponlaboot, the Deputy Commerce Minister.

This year’s show, held under the theme ‘ASEAN Logistics Network’, is participated by 164 companies from Thailand and its neighboring countries with a total of 326 exhibiting booths that cover every angle of logistics industry including logistics services (LSP, 3PL and 4PL), logistics equipment and machinery such as warehouse automation, packaging system, commercial vehicles as well as software and IT systems.

Apart from the products and services showcase, visitors to the 6th Thailand International Logistics Fair 2009 can also participate in a number of beneficial seminars and symposiums to be set up at the same venue.

The highlight activity is the ‘Logistics Symposium’ which will be presented by local and overseas logistics experts focusing on several hot topics such as “What Will Be the Situation of Logistics Industry in 2010 and How Logistics Service Providers Should Adapt to Survive” by Mr. William M. Gottlieb, the president of the International Federation of Freight Forwarders Associations (FIATA).

Other topics feature “Utilization of New Trade Lanes Linked with ASEAN” and “Golden Opportunity: Logistics in GMS and prospect to the BIMSTEC (Look West Policy) for the population of 1,500 million” presented by the Commerce Ministry’s experts.

The 6th Thailand International Logistics Fair 2009 is, by all means, a not-to-miss event for you to experience the latest innovation in logistics technology as well as to establish trade ties or seek new business partners.
