EDINBURGH, Scotland, November 9, 2010 - Macdonald Manchester Hotel & Spa recently hosted Her Royal Highness, The
Princess Royal at a charity black tie dinner on the evening of Tuesday 2nd
November 2010
, which raised GBP41,000 for The Princess Royal Trust for
Carers. 100 guests attended the event where Her Royal Highness was guest
speaker. Guests were treated to a champagne reception and a 3 course dinner
at the luxury 4 star hotel, followed by an auction and raffle, which included
prizes such as a week's holiday at one of Macdonald Hotel's luxury Spanish
resorts.

The Princess Royal Trust for Carers was established in 1991 and in that
time has campaigned tirelessly to provide carers with the support that they
need. With over 144 independently managed Carers' Centres and interactive
websites, the trust delivers around the clock support for over 400,000 carers
and approximately 25,000 young carers.

Steve Dunford, General Manager at the Macdonald Manchester Hotel & Spa
said: "It was our pleasure to host last night's event in aid of The Princess
Royal Trust for Carers and we were honoured to welcome Her Royal Highness as
guest speaker. Macdonald Hotels & Resorts has supported this worthy charity
for almost 20 years and in that time we have been able to make a number of
significant donations to such an important organisation. It is fantastic that
such a large sum of money was raised last night and we look forward to
working with the trust again in the future."

Yvonne Hughes, Senior Fundraising Manager for The Princess Royal Trust
for Carers added: "We are thrilled that we raised such a significant figure
at last night's event and I would like to thank all those who attended for
their contribution. With over 6 million people looking after a loved one who
may be sick, disabled, suffering from a mental health issue or addiction, it
is vital that we continue to support and value them and maximise their
quality of life."
