Maclaren Agrees to Compensation for Pushchair Injuries

MANCHESTER, England, May 17, 2010 - Personal Injury Claims solicitor First Personal Injury is
pleased that pushchair manufacturer Maclaren has this month announced that
they will compensate children who have suffered injuries after getting their
hands caught in the hinge mechanism of certain models of folding pushchair.

To date more than 40 UK families have been told they will
receive personal injury compensation from Maclaren, and First Personal Injury
Managing Partner, Michael Jefferies, believes there are many more parents out
there who are blaming themselves for these accidents. The agreement by
Maclaren to compensate proves the adults opening the pushchairs were not in
any way at fault. He comments: "This is good news for those families who have
suffered because of these injuries. Although the firm has refused to admit
liability, it has agreed to make full compensation awards, ranging from
GBP2,500 to GBP10,000 depending on the severity of injury. Many of the
reported accidents date back several years and involve injuries ranging from
lacerations to children's fingers to fingertips being cut off as if
guillotined. One child needed plastic surgery to repair her fingertip.

There may be more families out there whose children have
suffered an accident involving a pushchair but don't realise they can make an
accident claim. Our advice to the general public is, if you or your child has
suffered an injury because of one of these pushchairs get in touch with an
accident claims solicitor, as you could be entitled to make a claim for
compensation against the manufacturer or the person who sold it to you. Most
people think you only have a short period of time to make an accident claim
but for an accident involving children you have until 21st birthday to make a
claim for compensation."

The models that are at the centre of the injuries caused
include the Volo, Triumph, Quest Sport, Quest Mod, Techno XT, TechnoXLR, Twin
Triumph, Twin Techno and Easy Traveller.
