Latest Release Performs up to Eight Times Faster on Oracle Exadata Database Machine

Redwood Shores, Calif. – Oct. 4, 2010

News Facts

To help communications service providers collect and manage data to streamline their operations, Oracle has announced a new release of Oracle Communications Data Model, which helps service providers analyze multiple types of data – including network fault and performance, provisioning, service activation, revenue analysis and customer management.
The new version, Oracle Communications Data Model 11.2.3 (www.oracle.com/us/industries/communications/communications-data-model-072515.html) , received the TM Forum’s Information Framework (SID) certification (www.tmforum.org/BestPracticesStandards/CertifiedConformant/7629/Home.html#sid) , which serves as a common reference model for enterprise information in the communications industry.
Oracle Communications Data Model is the only communications data warehouse model to complete this certification, which is the broadest and most comprehensive to date.
When tested on Oracle Exadata Database Machine (www.oracle.com/us/products/database/database-machine/index.html) , Oracle Communications Data Model performed up to eight times faster than previous tests on symmetric multiprocessing (SMP) servers. Test cases included analyzing millions of contracts and related tables and hundreds of millions of usage detail records (UDR), as well as building data mining models and online analytical processing (OLAP) cubes. Accrued business benefits include near real-time network and UDR analysis, product contribution and revenue forecasting, customer churn profiling and scoring on the fly.
Oracle Communications Data Model is a key component of Oracle Exadata Intelligent Warehouse Solution for Communications (www.oracle.com/us/products/database/exadata/exadata-intelligent-ware-comm-brief-144488.pdf) that offers customers a complete package of hardware, software and tools to manage and analyze enterprise information in the communications industry.
