New Analytical Application Helps Life Sciences Organizations and Contract Research Organizations Drive Pharmacovigilance Process Improvement

Oracle Health Sciences User Group Annual Conference, Toronto – Oct. 18, 2011

News Facts

To help life sciences organizations and their contract research organization (CRO) partners improve pharmacovigilance productivity and facilitate compliance through increased insight, Oracle today introduced Oracle Health Sciences Pharmacovigilance Operational Analytics.
The solution is the newest addition to Oracle Health Sciences’ suite of operational planning, tracking and management applications, which provide a 360-degree view of a safety organization's case processing operations to improve staff and site productivity and enhance workflow efficiency.
Oracle Health Sciences Pharmacovigilance Operational Analytics provides life sciences organizations and CROs with insight that helps organizations better manage pharmacovigilance processes and costs across multiple case processing sites.
Biopharmaceutical companies and CROs can use the solution to identify and analyze trends or gather real-time information related to multiple aspects of pharmacovigilance operations including case volume, site performance, specific products or groups, workflow repetitions, and time to case lock. These insights drive improvements in the efficiency and effectiveness of pharmacovigilance programs and support regulatory compliance initiatives.
With improved transparency of their product safety processes CROs can more precisely price their services and strengthen relationships with clients.
The solution, built on Oracle Business Intelligence Suite Enterprise Edition (www.oracle.com/us/solutions/ent-performance-bi/enterprise-edition-066546.html) , features comprehensive out-of-the-box dashboards and reports that are easy for non-technical users to navigate and configure – delivering flexibility and accelerating time to value.
Operations and workflow managers can use the dashboards to track metrics and drill down into real-time data associated with current cases, as well as analyze historical key performance indicators and metrics. Oracle Health Sciences Pharmacovigilance Operational Analytics also features a personal dashboard that enables individual users to assess performance of their active cases in the context of historical metrics.
The software also provides comprehensive star schemas that can be used to create custom reports quickly and easily.
To simplify deployment and deliver faster time-to-value, Oracle Health Sciences Pharmacovigilance Operational Analytics features out-of-the-box integration with Oracle Argus Safety (www.oracle.com/us/industries/027631.htm) .
