Customers Empowered to Reduce Energy Consumption and Cut Greenhouse Gas Emissions

ORACLE OPENWORLD, SAN FRANCISCO – Sept. 22, 2010

News Facts

To help manufacturers, commercial facilities, data centers and campuses accelerate continuous improvement and sustainability initiatives, Oracle today announced a major expansion of Oracle Manufacturing Operations Center (www.oracle.com/us/products/applications/ebusiness/scm/051334.html) .
Oracle Manufacturing Operations Center has been expanded with the addition of Sustainability Sensor Data Management, a new solution that helps organizations monitor their energy usage, greenhouse gas emissions and other environmental related impacts.
By enabling organizations to monitor, manage and advance environmental programs, these enhancements help to improve efficiencies, reduce costs, protect the environment and ensure regulatory compliance.
Oracle Manufacturing Operations Center, and with it Sustainability Sensor Data Management, seamlessly integrates into existing Oracle and non-Oracle process control systems, smart meters and building management systems, delivering comprehensive visibility and analysis.
Oracle Manufacturing Operations Center can be implemented as a standalone solution or as part of the Oracle E-Business Suite.

Sustainability Sensor Data Management Solution Helps Organizations “Go Green”

Oracle’s new Sustainability Sensor Data Management capabilities build on Oracle Manufacturing Operations Center, automating the process of collection of sensor based data related to energy, water, air, gas and other similar factors, then aggregating and analyzing that data throughout the enterprise. The solution also supports the collection of non-sensor based data so that a comprehensive picture can be assembled regardless of the extent of sensor automation. These capabilities enables organizations to:
Ensure regulatory compliance: Collection of sustainability and energy usage data facilitates greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions reporting and Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) reporting for both mandatory and voluntary programs.
Reduce greenhouse gas emissions: A holistic view of sustainability metrics helps businesses identify areas for improvement.
Reduce costs: Energy-aware KPIs and dashboards present businesses with the opportunity to reduce energy consumption, resulting in lower energy bills and environmental impact.
