LONDON, October 25, 2011 -

The church of St Martin-in-the-Fields is live streaming a service for the first time from their church in the heart of London’s Trafalgar Square.

The Choir of St Martin-in-the-Fields will sing the Fauré Requiem as part of the Requiem Mass for All Souls, when the Church remembers loved ones whose memory is precious to us.

The history of this vibrant church dates back to 1222, and is today well known for its ethos of welcome, inclusivity and its stand on social issues. St Martin-in-the-Fields was also the venue for Britain’s first ever radio broadcast from a church in 1924 and the church continues to broadcast regularly with the BBC.

The Revd Katherine Hedderly, priest at St Martin-in-the-Fields, said:

“We are excited about opening up this new chapter in our long broadcasting history. We hope this webcast will bring the beautiful music and services for which this church is known to an even wider audience.”

The event will be streamed online using the StreamUK online video platform StreamMP on Wednesday 2nd November at 6.30pm. You can view the service at this time here.

This webcast is supported in memory of Suzanne Elizabeth Falter Harvey and with thanks for The Rt. Rev. Robert Condit Harvey.
