COMPOSITES CHINA - WPC PAVILLION Prompts Another Industry Boom

SHANGHAI, May 16, 2011 - The seminar on "Wood-Plastic Composites (WPC) Promotion and
Application", one of the pre-show activities of COMPOSITES CHINA - WPC
PAVILLION, was successfully held in Shanghai last month.

Jointly organised by Reed Exhibitions, Wood Plastic Composites
Committee of China Association of Resources Comprehensive Utilization (CWPCU)
and China Institute of Building Standard Design & Research, the seminar
focused on "The application of WPC in Wood Saving and Alternative
Engineering" and "COMPOSITES CHINA Introduction", aiming to fully demonstrate
the policies on energy saving, emission reduction and resource sustainable
development advocated in the "12th Five-Year" plan, as well as to prepare the
exhibitors for an efficient promotion in the coming July.

Officials from the Ministry of Industry and Information
Technology and more than 60 industry professionals from universities like
East China University of Technology, South China University of Technology,
Shanghai Tongji Urban Planning Research Institute, as well as industry
experts, heads of WPC enterprises and China Building Materials Daily attended
the seminar. Various topics were discussed, including the opportunities for
new resources industries rendered by the "12th Five-Year" plan, the prior
issues to be solved in the development of WPC industry, how to make full use
of the potentials and advantages of WPC in the development of China's
industry.

Elites and experts attending the meeting agreed that the
longstanding bottleneck in WPC development in China is insufficient
publicity. Although the awareness of WPC as a new material has been greatly
improved after its usage in major projects construction such as Beijing
Olympic Games and the World Expo Shanghai, it's still not solid enough to
support the rapid development of WPC industry. Thus, how to increase public
awareness of new materials and drive the alignment of upstream and downstream
industries has always been an important issue for CWPCU.

After briefing the requirements on wood saving and alternatives
of the country, officials from the Department of Energy Saving and
Comprehensive Utilization said: "WPC, in conformity with the country's policy
on resource saving and using wood alternatives, is a promising industry. We
hope the industry associations and media can fully take up their role as the
bridge connecting the upstream and downstream of the industrial chain, the
domestic and foreign enterprises to promote extensive exchanges on technology
and information. A new prospect of wood saving and alternatives is expected
to be created on a solid foundation of WPC applications."

Ms. Lanny Zhang, Senior Project Manager of Reed Exhibitions said:
