In its 80th anniversary year, the Empire State Building today
unveiled a new, permanent exhibit that captures the global icon's
astonishing history, engineering and construction.
NEW YORK, April 1, 2011 - The Empire State Building (ESB) along with other iconic towers around the
globe will join in a worldwide show of solidarity to raise awareness and
encourage support for the people of Japan after the devastating earthquake
and tsunami, by shining their lights white and red - the colors of Japan - on
Monday, April 4, 2011.
NEW YORK, July 26, 2010 - The Empire State Building today unveiled a US$2 million interactive,
multi-media sustainability exhibit at the second floor visitor's center,
which showcases a US$20 million energy retrofit project that was announced in
April 2009 with President Bill Clinton and New York City Mayor Michael
Bloomberg.
NEW YORK, May 27, 2010 - The ground-breaking energy efficiency work at the Empire State Building
has achieved a milestone on its journey for sustainability leadership in the
commercial real estate community by receiving an ENERGY STAR rating of 90
from the United States Environmental Protection Agency.
