LONDON, January 6, 2011 - Britons have been increasing their use of online voucher codes when
making purchases, research statistics have shown.
The research, conducted by Everydaysale.co.uk, which helps local UK
residents find the best possible deals and offers on nearly everything, shows
38% of Britain often use vouchers and deals to save money on online shopping.
Some of them offer money-off discounts while others offer free-delivery
deals. According to the research, food and eating out with restaurant
vouchers are the most popular areas engaged with vouchers at 40%, and the
sequential order is fashion area at 29%, and travel area at 23%.
Bonn Chen, the CEO of Everydaysale.co.uk, said, "There is a strong
consumer demand for voucher shopping in recent years and so we have been
dedicated to increasing the categories of voucher codes and online stores.
That being the case, now we have teamed up with more than 5000 online stores,
a massive growth from the previous 2000 stores since our launch."
Everydaysale.co.uk experienced a 40% rise in its traffic volume over the
past year and especially during the Christmas holidays, saw a jump by 120% in
the use of discounted vouchers in gifts category 80%, party dressings
category 58%, and the restaurant and food category 68%. The next round of
sales is set to be released in January 2011. About 83% of recipients said
that they would not buy such an amount of things if there were no discount
codes provided by merchants. On the reason why voucher codes enjoy such
popularity, 78% of recipients believe it is still the recession.
"This research tells us that the voucher code culture has come into the
mainstream and in some way, it encourages consumer demand. The world is
changing and so are people's spending habits. Now the voucher codes play an
important role in people's shopping life just as it was for necessity in the
past years," Bonn Chen continued.
