FRANKFURT, Germany and RIO DE JANEIRO, September 29, 2011 -
Sports Logistics Company Prepares for 2016 Olympics and 2014 World Cup
Brazil will not only host the 2014 World Cup, but the 2016 Olympic Games will also be staged around Rio’s Sugarloaf Mountain. The specialized logistics company Conceptum Sport Logistics (www.conceptum-sport-logistics.com) is already setting up offices in Rio de Janeiro. Operating in immediate proximity to the venues, the company supports athletes in the safe and timely transportation of the sporting equipment. The company will support all sports associations and National Olympic Committees in South America. In July, Conceptum Sport Logistics already had the opportunity to assist during the Military World Games. The event, designed as a pre-Olympics stress test, gave the sports facilities the chance to demonstrate their suitability for the 2016 Games.
The company’s aim is to enable athletes to fully focus on the competition - without having to worry about their sports equipment. “The logistics for sports equipment is a complex process requiring specialized knowledge, especially of the international freight industry,” says Sebastian Stahl, managing director of Conceptum Sport Logistics. Conceptum Sport Logistics was able to secure a respected athlete and logistics expert, Marion Klintworth, as its on-site branch manager in Rio de Janeiro with more than 20 years of experience in logistics industry.
The team of Conceptum - Ms. Klintworth, Sebastian Stahl and Ben Morin (manager of the company’s Canadian branch) - will be supporting several National Olympic Committees from Central and South America during the upcoming Pan American Games in Mexican city Guadalajara. “We try to ensure the most seamless support possible. Although this takes quite a bit of effort, it is well worth it, and it allows the athletes to prepare for the competition without added stress,” says Stahl.
