Global Launch of 'Thank You Mom' Initiative Extends Campaign from Singapore through London 2012 Olympic Games

SANTIAGO, Chile and SAO PAULO, August 13, 2010 - LAN Airlines S.A. (LAN) (NYSE: LFL/IPSA: LAN) and TAM S.A. (TAM) (BM&FBOVESPA: TAMM4/NYSE: TAM) today announced that they have entered into a non-binding MOU that outlines their intentions to combine their holdings under a single parent entity. The combination would create a new Latin American airline group that would offer seamless passenger and cargo service across the continent and around the world. The new group, to be known as LATAM Airlines Group, would include Lan Airlines and its affiliates in Peru, Argentina and Ecuador; Lan Cargo and its affiliates; TAM Lineas Aereas S.A.; TAM Mercosur and all other holdings of LAN and TAM. The transaction is subject to both parties entering into a binding definitive agreement and satisfaction of conditions, including corporate and shareholder approvals and actions and regulatory approvals.

PEMBROKE, Bermuda, August 13, 2010 - Allied World Assurance Company Holdings, Ltd (NYSE: AWH) today reported that the company has repurchased a warrant owned by The Chubb Corporation, which entitled Chubb to purchase a total of 2,000,000 Allied World common shares for US$34.20 per share. Chubb has no remaining warrants to purchase Allied World shares. The aggregate purchase price for the warrant was US$32,819,000, and the transaction was funded using available cash on hand. This repurchase has been executed separately from the company's US$500 million share repurchase program that was authorized by its Board of Directors in May 2010.
