MELBOURNE, Australia, October 7, 2011 -
Australian brand development company lime door brands today announces David Jones as the exclusive Australian retailer of Dita Von Teese Muse, the limited edition dress collection designed by the international style icon herself.
Dita Von Teese Muse is the epitome of classic retro-glamour with a launch capsule collection that features five fabulous pieces, including vintage-inspired dresses and a tulle-layered trench coat. Each dress includes couture detailing and grosgrain ribbon that cinches the waist to create a svelte feminine silhouette for which the fashion muse is so renowned.
The collection showcases traditional features such as in-built corsetry, silk Crepe de Chine lining and silhouettes that are carefully constructed to suit the female form. The pieces are united by a classic colour-palette, which includes backstage black, ruby lips red and a stunning original rose print.
Dita Von Teese is delighted with the Muse collection, which is available in sizes 8 to 20 exclusively at David Jones in Australia from November.
“Offering a collection that caters to women of all sizes is very important to me,” said Dita Von Teese.
“Muse is designed to complement a multitude of body shapes, so every woman can celebrate her natural beauty and feel sexy in a gorgeous dress,” explained Dita Von Teese.
Dita Von Teese Muse dresses are timeless investment pieces that transcend seasonal trends, both in terms of their quality and design. Australian retailer David Jones welcomes the innovation at a time when shoppers are investing in sustainable product rather than disposable fashion.
“David Jones is thrilled to launch the highly anticipated Dita Von Teese Muse collection into the Australian market. The brand will compliment and sit well amongst our portfolio of leading international and Australian brands. Its feminine aesthetic and strong tailoring are reflective of Dita herself and it is this celebration of the female silhouette that we believe our customers will respond really well to and be excited by,” David Bush - David Jones General Manager Womenswear said.
Dita Von Teese is coming to Australia in October to launch the brand and will be wearing one of her favourite pieces to iconic Melbourne Spring Racing Carnival event, Derby Day.
Co-owned by lime door brands, the exclusive retro-glamorous range is a world-first for Dita Von Teese, with Australia the first stop in the brand’s global expansion plan.
“We are very excited to be partnering with a prestigious retailer like David Jones for the international launch of Dita Von Teese Muse and are currently in negotiations with a number of retailers in the United Kingdom, the USA, and Europe to continue expanding the brand,” said lime door brands founder and CEO Michele Hamdorf.
