Exar to Showcase Wide Range of Products at electronica 2010 in Munich, Germany

PowerXR(TM) Demonstrated for First Time at European Electronics Event

FREMONT, California, November 8, 2010 - Exar Corporation (Nasdaq: EXAR) will be showcasing its Power Management
and Interface products at electronica 2010 in Munich, Germany. Exar products
can be seen November 9 - 12, 2010 in Hall A4, Stand 260. These products and
the demonstrations highlight Exar's continuing focus on delivering high value
differentiated silicon and software solutions.

Power Management Products

Demonstrated for the first time at European electronics event, Exar's
PowerXR family of digital step down controllers will be shown to booth
attendees. These programmable power ICs integrate the best of both worlds -
the low cost and flexibility of digital power management and control, and the
robust power capabilities of analog switching power supplies. PowerXR
products reduce development time from weeks to hours enabling a significant
time-to-market advantage. PowerXR devices permit real-time power system
adjustments during design, in response to changing requirements or even after
field-deployment. In addition, several evaluation boards for Exar's LED
drivers will be on display including the SP76xx series high power step down
LED drivers as well as the XRP6840. Also, the recently announced
single-channel XRP6658 (1A 1.5MHz Synchronous PFM/PWM) and XRP6668 (Dual
Channel 1A/1A 1.5MHz Synchronous PFM/PWM) step-down regulator evaluation
boards will be at the booth.

Interface Products

Exar's market leading Universal Asynchronous Receiver Transmitter (UART)
solutions will be on display at the booth. This will include the industry's
fastest Full-Speed USB UARTs the XR21Vxx series including the recently
announced single-channel XR21B1411 with +/- 15kV HBM ESD protection
supporting up to 12Mbps serial data rate. Also at the booth will be a full
complement of Exar's PCIe UARTs (single, dual, and eight-channel).
Additionally, several of Exar's market proven RS-232/RS-485 serial
transceivers will be on display.
