Hi-tech Firm Sees Record Results and Announces Major Recruitment Drive

LONDON, March 30, 2011 - Irisys, a global leader in infrared based solutions, has announced record
results for the 2010 financial year with revenues more than double those of
2009.

The Northampton-based company saw particularly strong growth in its queue
management solutions (www.irisys.co.uk/queue-management/) in North
America
, as used by major retailers including Tesco and Morrisons as a key
part of their strategy to drive customer satisfaction. Customer counting
(www.irisys.co.uk/people-counting/) technologies, used by retailers
such as Vodafone, Abercrombie and Fitch, and M&S to enhance shop performance,
also saw strong uptake, as did thermal imaging (
www.irisys.co.uk/thermal-imaging/) solutions, particularly for the
fast-growing security market.

Managing Director David Clayson said that he also expected 2011 to be
buoyant. "We have seen a stronger than predicted rebound in our markets
following the global downturn in 2009," he explained. "Our strategic
investments in areas such as security, industrial thermal imaging and
healthcare, as well as improved products in our core markets of counting and
queuing, are paying off, and we have our largest ever open order book for the
start of the New Year. We are now the acknowledged world leader in queue
management (www.irisys.co.uk/queue-management/) and people counting
(www.irisys.co.uk/people-counting/), with an installed global base far
larger than any other company."

Irisys exports over 80 per cent of its products, and has seen strong
growth in European and North American markets for all of its products.

To meet increasing demand, Irisys has embarked on a major recruitment
drive (

The 90-strong company plans to increase its workforce by 20 per cent
in 2011, and is seeking top flight engineering, R&D, and production staff.

In February 2011, Irisys announced the receipt of a grant from the UK
Department of Health to develop a groundbreaking automatic handwash
monitoring (

and alerting system for the National Health Service that
aims to reduce the effects of hospital 'superbugs', and thereby help to save
some of the GBP1bn annual cost of such infections.
