BRISTOL, England, November 4, 2011 -
Next Generation Retail APAC summit - which took place from 18th - 20th October at The Golden Palm Tree Resort & Spa, Kuala Lumpur - provided leading executives the chance to establish strong business relationships, which will see the start of many innovative and exciting new ventures.
The summit saw IT decision makers from companies across the APAC retail sector meet with solution providers to discuss targeting the rapidly growing market across the region.
Speakers included leading industry professionals such as Ivano Ortis, Head International, IDC Retail Insights; Nishad Alani, VP Regional Operations, Starbucks Coffee APAC; and Christian Charlton, Director Retail Solutions, APAC & Japan, HP. Other leading companies including IBM, Intel, and Motorola sponsored the event.
Leading executives had ample opportunity to network with peers. Sakchai Leelajesadakul, Head of IT Services, Tesco Lotus said of the event, “It is wonderful that I can [learn about] what the latest technology is, and also network with many people, so I [have met] new colleagues and new friends, which is really good for the future.”
As well as comprehensive workshops, the summit involved panel discussions offering executives moderated, peer-led discussions on major industry issues. One-to-one meetings gave delegates the chance to meet with business analysts and analyst partners to discuss strategy and technology demands in a rapidly growing market.
A total of 15 workshops covered a range of exciting and pressing topics for the retail industry. Topics included business intelligence, optimisation demands, HR management, social media, the role of the CIO, marketing, disruptive technology, and more.
Megan Hamilton, Event Director at GDS International - the global business event company behind NG Retail APAC - says of the event, “We have always been proud of the quality of our summits, but this years’ Next Generation Retail APAC Summit was one of our best yet.
