"Oi, There’s a Queue!" ASOS Fashion Sale Attracts 27,000 Customers in Online Line-up
By Asos, PRNEMonday, June 20, 2011
LONDON, June 21, 2011 -
Brits have braved the long sale queues for years, camping
outside their favourite store in order to bag the best bargains.
Now ASOS offer’s
customers the opportunity to join their virtual queue from the
comfort of their own home, so get your digital sleeping bag at the
ready.
The ASOS sale door doesn’t open until Tuesday 21th
June, but at 9am on the 16th June the queue opened and
within the first 24 hours there were already 27,000 in line,
signalling that the high street is officially digital.
Always ahead of the curve, ASOS is gearing up to offer it’s
customers a new kind of sales experience. By signing up to the ASOS
Facebook page customers are given their place in the queue to
access the ASOS sale a day ahead of everyone else. But to secure
the best buys you need to ‘digitally elbow’ your way to the front
of the queue. Activities which will move you up to a prime
position include playing the ASOS pairs game and inviting your
friends along, which 232,000 people have done already.
Finally, not only does giving shout-outs and confessions on
twitter get you to further up the queue but it also gives you the
chance to win £250 worth of ASOS gift vouchers.
Customers who are already part of ASOS Premier, the brand
loyalty scheme, who join the queue are automatically given a place
at the front. All other customers need to sign up before
Monday afternoon on the 20th June in order to gain
access to the preview that day. The main sale will begin the
following day with great offers across the site.
