LONDON, December 30, 2010 - Teachers are the savviest profession when it comes to looking for the
best deal on car insurance, according to new data released by comparison
website comparethemarket.com (www.comparethemarket.com/).

Over 14% of customers comparing prices on comparethemarket.com listed
their profession as education, giving teachers top marks when it comes to
looking for the best deal. Those who work in manufacturing came second in the
comparethemarket.com's savviest professions ranking on 12%. But perhaps
surprisingly finance professionals were way down the list, accounting for
less than 2% of all customers using comparethemarket.com to find the best
deal on car insurance (www.comparethemarket.com/).

The ranking of Britain's savviest professionals was produced by
comparethemarket.com by analysing data from all visitors to its site in 2010.
Other sectors near the top of the ranking included admin and customer support
workers (8%), retail professional (8%) and health workers (6%). Legal and
safety professionals, scientists, and quality assurance workers all accounted
for less than 1% of customers comparing quotes.

"It is clear that price comparison is now an established way of sourcing
insurance quotes right across the spectrum," said Kal Atwal, MD of
Comparethemarket.com. Our data shows that people from every walk of life are
now using price comparison sites to find the best deals on car insurance."
