Arctic15 to Pull Together the Nordic and Baltic Startup Ecosystem

HELSINKI, Finland, September 5, 2011 -

Fifteen startups and six keynote speakers together with hundreds of international attendees to celebrate entrepreneurship in Helsinki, Finland on September 22nd.

Entrepreneurs, investors and opinion leaders from the Nordic and Baltic region will gather in Helsinki, Finland on September 22nd to participate in the first annual Arctic15 conference. The aim of the conference is to focus international attention and promote the talented technology startups in the region.

Arctic15 has also announced the finalists participating in the conference to win fame, prize money and glory. The startups represent the best, undiscovered talent the region has to offer. 

“We received a lot of high quality applications to our competition and it’s great to see so many great ventures being created all over the region”, said Antti Vilpponen, CEO of ArcticStartup, the host of the conference.

The Nordic and Baltic region has received a lot of international awareness in the recent months due to the world class companies being created in the  area. Furthermore Wired UK recently stated Helsinki, Stockholm and Tallinn among the hottest startup capitals in Europe, along with Berlin, London and others.

The event has received lots of interest from international investors as well, who will be looking to discover “the new Rovios” (The Finnish company behind the immensely successful Angry Birds) before others.

Keynote speakers at the event are Steve Huffman (Reddit, Hipmunk), Jens Begemann, (wooga), Richard White (Uservoice.com), Patric Blixt (Rebtel), Felix Petersen (Amen) and Ruud de Jonge (Microsoft). 

The 15 finalists selected to pitch on stage at the event (in random order) are Tribe Studios (Finland), Conferize (Denmark), Transfluent (Finland), Campalyst (Latvia), 46 elks (Sweden), Mancx (Sweden), Streamtainment Systems (Estonia), 300mg (Estonia), Fishare (Finland), Kiosked (Finland), Meetin.gs (Finland), Graduateland (Denmark), Holvi (Finland), Achoo (Estonia) and Mepin/Meontrust (Finland).
