DUBLIN, August 4, 2010 - Global Indemnity plc (Nasdaq: GBLI) today reported net income for the three months ended June 30, 2010 of US$24.5 million or US$0.81 per share compared to net income of US$16.3 million or US$0.64 per share for the same period in 2009. Results for the six months ended June 30, 2010 include net income of US$43.4 million or US$1.44 per share compared to net income of US$23.4 million or US$1.09 per share for the same period of 2009. Operating income for the three months ended June 30, 2010 was US$20.7 million or US$0.69 per share compared to operating income of US$12.7 million or US$0.50 per share for the same period of 2009. Operating income for the six months ended June 30, 2010 was US$28.6 million or US$0.95 per share compared to operating income of US$26.2 million or US$1.22 per share for the same period of 2009.
