LONDON - Fundamental Asset Management Ltd has launched SF Fundamentals, an exciting opportunity to invest in a diverse portfolio of income producing corporate bonds, drawing on the firm’s outstanding track record in this area.

Stephen Drabwell, Director of Fundamental, comments,

‘Corporate bonds currently present an extremely attractive investment proposition. The bull run of equity markets and relatively higher interest rates in previous years meant that Corporate Bonds were largely overlooked by investors and returns modest. With equity markets in disarray and interest rates at historic lows, and set to remain low for the next few years, Corporate Bonds are highly attractive for income seekers.’

Fundamental has been successfully managing an offshore Sterling Corporate Bond Fund since May 2005 which has consistently outperformed not only its relevant benchmarks but also its peer group, having never had a down year. Since equity markets started falling in October 2008, the offshore fund has returned over 6%.

With reference to the trustnet rankings (source: www.trustnet.com) over a 3 year period Fundamental’s offshore fund would be ranked 4th out of a universe of 94 Corporate Bond funds. Fundamental has now launched a UK onshore version which will be able to accept ISA, SIPPs and other UK based retail investors.

SF Fundamentals is administered by Share Funds, offers daily dealing, a low initial minimum investment of GBP1,000 and will be available on the majority of leading investment platforms.

The key attractions of the SF Fundamentals are:-

- Corporate Bonds currently offer an extremely attractive investment proposition in the current climate. - Base rates are set to remain low for the next few years. - The manager has an outstanding track record in the sector established over the past 4 years. - The offshore fund has never had a down year.

Drabwell adds;

“We are of the view that income seekers should increase their exposure to Corporate Bonds in the current climate. The debt issues of high quality, cash generative companies are currently trading at compelling levels with yields to maturity of many in excess of 5%. “
