Placing equal importance on both global and local service is something
HSBC take exceptional pride in. As a global bank they understand the
financial needs ofcorporate clients by building strong personal relationships
with their customers.

To showcase the strength of their customer relationships and as part of
their new global campaign which focuses on the needs of international
businesses, HSBC have commissioned a series of films that gives four clients
the opportunity to talk about how HSBC Commercial Banking (CMB)
(www.hsbc.com/1/2/business) have helped them with their specific needs
of reducing risk, reducing costs, keeping cash flowing and expansion into new
markets. The films focus on the key issues facing clients and include
invaluable insights into HSBC's capabilities in helping with these varied
requirements.

The first two films in the series introduce us to GL events and Softtek -
two companies from opposite sides of the world tackling different problems
and needing different services from their banking provider.

From global events company GL events we meet Erick Rostagnat, Chief
Financial Officer. Based in Lyon, France, GL events have business activities
spanning 80 cities across the world. After identifying Brazil as a key market
for GL events, HSBC worked with Mr. Rostagnat to make the process as smooth
as possible. Erick Rostagnat says about HSBC, "they have the local knowledge
about the rates, interests and money and the international knowledge."

From France we go to Mexico and meet Blanca Trevino, CEO and President of
Softtek, a global IT and business process solutions provider spanning 14
different countries. When doing business from Mexico to the US, fluctuations
in exchange rates between the Mexican Peso and US Dollar put Softtek's
profits at huge risk of shrinking with the Peso. HSBC provided relationship
managers and established products to mitigate the risks, allowing Blanca
Trevino
and Softtek to, "minimize the risk [and] focus on our own operational
efficiencies."

What Erick Rostagnat and Blanca Trevino's stories tell us is that
succeeding in international business is a tough challenge, but that rising to
the challenge is a lot easier when you have the right partners who have been
through it all before.
