MedNet International Lowers Development Costs and Improves Customer Experience with Oracle WebLogic Server 11g

MedNet International Ltd (www.mni.gr/) ., a global provider of innovative software solutions to healthcare issuers, is using Oracle WebLogic Server 11g (www.oracle.com/us/products/middleware/application-server/weblogic-enterprise-edition/index.html) to help reduce software development costs and improve its customer experience.

To support upgrades to its flagship MedNeXt+ product, an enterprise-wide solution that administers services to nearly three million members and processes U.S. $620 million in annual premiums, MedNet needed a scalable, efficient and high-performance application platform.

After careful evaluation, MedNet selected Oracle Fusion Middleware (www.oracle.com/us/products/middleware/index.html) family of products, including Oracle WebLogic Server 11g, to build the foundation for a new cloud-based, configurable, out-of-the-box MedNeXt+ application that could adapt to the needs of individual health insurers, third party administrators and managed care organizations.

With Oracle WebLogic Server 11g and other Oracle Fusion Middleware products including Oracle Application Development Framework (www.oracle.com/technetwork/developer-tools/adf/overview/index.html) , Oracle JDeveloper (www.oracle.com/technetwork/developer-tools/jdev/overview/index.html) , Oracle JRockit (www.oracle.com/us/products/middleware/application-server/jrockit/index.html) and Oracle Business Intelligence Foundation (www.oracle.com/us/solutions/ent-performance-bi/business-intelligence/bi-foundation-suite-170437.html) , MedNet was able to minimize development time and cost for the enhanced MedNeXt+ product while creating a flexible platform for building next-generation features.

The use of the flexible and high performance Oracle Application Development Framework has allowed MedNet to increase application development productivity while reducing development time and cost by 20 percent – 1.25 million Euro.

By embedding Oracle Business Intelligence Enterprise Edition into MedNeXt+, MedNet is able to help risk carriers track revenue against key performance indicators and make fact-based forecasting, marketing, and strategy decisions.

In addition, the increased speed, performance and scalability of the new MedNext+ product has enabled MedNet to boost end-user performance by 20 percent and lower the cost of customer ownership over existing implementations by 50 percent.
