Enhances SOA Management Solution with New Business Transaction Management Capabilities

Oracle today announced new Business Transaction Management (www.oracle.com/us/products/enterprise-manager/app-performance-068356.html) capabilities in Oracle Enterprise Manager 11g (www.oracle.com/us/products/enterprise-manager/index.html) , further enabling IT to monitor transactions across computing tiers and applications.
The new capabilities allow IT to track the exact flow of business transactions across underlying IT systems, helping them quickly identify issues and fix them before they become critical or impact end-user experiences.
Administrators of large scale, distributed application environments running on Java-based middleware can more easily perform their jobs, ranging from addressing performance issues in live transactions, to comprehensive reporting for historical analysis – using both technical and business metrics.
Further integrating technology from the AmberPoint acquisition, the new capabilities deliver significant enhancements to Oracle Enterprise Manager’s SOA and Java Platform Enterprise Edition application management offerings, including more advanced analytics capable of processing massive amounts of transaction data, an impoved user interface, new monitoring instruments and integration with Oracle Business Intelligence Publisher (www.oracle.com/us/solutions/ent-performance-bi/bi-publisher-066551.html) .
This release also adds two new “observers,” automated agents, to help provide comprehensive insight into transactions running on the latest releases of Oracle WebLogic Server (www.oracle.com/us/products/middleware/application-server/index.html) and Oracle SOA Suite 11g (www.oracle.com/us/technologies/soa/soa-suite/index.html) .

Improved user interface: provides a completely customizable administrative console for scalable transaction monitoring in massive application environments, allowing administrators to more easily analyze transactions and gain actionable insights.
New business transaction monitoring instruments: including consumer usage and performance of each individual transaction and measuring performance of services and transactions against absolute and/or relative SLAs, resulting in less false positives and faster resolution times.
Container-level views: enhance application mapping with network location, showing server location for failing and/or slowing services and components, allowing administrators to act quickly on potential issues.
Integration with Oracle Business Intelligence Publisher: enables better reporting on business transactions, allowing administrators to automatically upload large volumes of data for analysis and quickly communicate transaction performance with key stakeholders.
Centralized, policy-based configuration: helps lower total cost of ownership and significantly reduce the complexity of instrumenting applications, by allowing administrators to establish policies that can be enforced through the application lifecycle for more consistent monitoring of transactions in any application environment.
Automated modeling and management of replicated services: supports enterprise deployment of services and reduction of the time and effort needed to set up and manage transactions. For highly available and scalable environments, such as mission critical applications, Oracle Enterprise Manager’s Business Transaction Management capabilities are able to monitor performance across a distributed, load-balanced and clustered server environment, providing consolidated intelligence on transaction performance.
