New Oracle PartnerNetwork Specialization, Open APIs, and Oracle Validated Integration Helps Enable Partners to Provide Complete Application-to-Disk Management and Cloud Capabilities to Global Customers

ORACLE OPENWORLD, SAN FRANCISCO – October 3, 2011

News Facts

In conjunction with the launch of Oracle Enterprise Manager 12c (www.oracle.com/us/corporate/press/512064) , Oracle today announced new Oracle PartnerNetwork (OPN) resources that help partners to leverage Oracle’s IT management solution to deliver and manage enterprise application and cloud environments.
New partner resources include new and updated OPN Specializations, an Oracle Enterprise Manager Extensibility Development Kit, and enhancements to the Oracle Validated Integration Program.

Enhanced Specializations Enable Partners to Demonstrate Expertise, Differentiate Offerings

Oracle has added a new Oracle Application Quality Management Specialization and has also incorporated updates to OPN Knowledge Zones and Specializations for Oracle Enterprise Manager.
For Oracle Partners, including ISVs, System Integrators, Managed Service Providers, and industry vertical or specialty partners, the new and enhanced product technology can be used to offer or extend solutions for applications-to-disk manageability whether physical, virtual or cloud.
New OPN Diamond level partners, Accenture, Capgemini and CSC, are leveraging Oracle Enterprise Manager 12c to extend the value of their cloud-based offerings.
Accenture’s Foundation Platform for Oracle (AFPO) provides a reference application architecture, implementation accelerator, and common services framework to speed deployment of Oracle Fusion Middleware with Oracle Enterprise Manager 12c.
Capgemini Group’s Testing Management Approach Methodology (TMap®) and TMAP templates have been incorporated into Oracle Enterprise Manager’s Application Quality Management Suite, allowing customers to test and stage applications before deploying them into their private cloud.
CSC’s Cloud Foundation Services rely on Oracle Enterprise Manager for the deployment and management of private clouds. CSC also offers a library of updated Oracle VM templates for Oracle Applications including Oracle’s Siebel CRM and Oracle’s PeopleSoft. With the templates, Oracle customers can automate deployment of the assembled applications into their environment from Oracle Enterprise Manager’s software library. CSC will be further incorporating Oracle Enterprise Manager 12c’s cloud management capabilities, such as metering, chargeback and configuration management, into its Foundation Services solution.
To date, there are more than a thousand global IT professionals certified to implement Oracle Enterprise Manager and/or Oracle Application Quality Management solutions for customers.

Open APIs Provide Partners Greater Flexibility, Easier Integration

Oracle Enterprise Manager 12c’s Extensibility Framework offers a new level of flexibility for partners by providing Application Programming Interfaces (APIs) for core management functions such as discovery, provisioning, configuration, monitoring and compliance.
Developers and ISVs can use Oracle Enterprise Manager’s Extensibility APIs to leverage the same management functions used to manage Oracle environments for their own applications or devices. With the Extensibility Development Kit included in Oracle Enterprise Manager 12c partners, such as Dell Force10, Entuity, F5, Fujitsu, NetApp, NEC and Hitachi Data Systems, are leveraging these management functions far more efficiently than developing this functionality from scratch.
In addition, Oracle Enterprise Manager 12c makes it easy for partners to leverage their investment in building management capabilities for non-Oracle technologies. Through automatic conversion tools for plug-ins, partners can convert previously-built plug-ins and connectors to the latest version of Oracle Enterprise Manager and have these plug-ins or connectors validated through the Oracle Validated Integration program.

Updated Oracle Validated Integration Program for Testing and Validation of Partner Plug-ins

The Oracle Validated Integration program has been updated to help enable partners to test and validate plug-ins and connectors with Oracle Enterprise Manager 12c.
Available through Oracle PartnerNetwork, Oracle Validated Integration gives customers confidence that integrations between Oracle Enterprise Manager and complementary partner solutions have been validated to work together as designed. This helps reduce risk, improve system implementation cycles, and provide for smoother upgrades and simpler maintenance.
Using the Extensibility Development Kit, Dell Force10 has achieved Oracle Validated Integration for their Open Automation Plug-in for Oracle Enterprise Manager 12c. NetApp is currently enrolled in Oracle Validated Integration and is finalizing development of their plug-in.
