LONDON, July 29, 2011 -
sQuid, the ePayments provider, has launched a new product that enables customers to pre-order food, drink and other products and services online. Online payments combined with loyalty enable a compelling proposition for scheme operators and consumers alike.
Catering staff upload menu items easily to their own dedicated web page, where customers can pre-order online. Customer purchases are automatically printed on a compact printer in the kitchen, the food is prepared with customers collecting their orders during their lunch breaks.
“It’s great to see such an innovative use of our technology by sQuid to enable customers to pre-pay and pre-order online for their food and drink. Both the customer and merchant win, which is great,” said Steve Armstrong of Sequoia, the provider of the compact printers.
With no queuing or cash handling it is easy to see the benefits all round. At Aberdeen City Council, staff can pre-order their lunch from 8am to 11am each morning from their own desks without the need to queue at the staff restaurant.
Bruce Reid, Accord Operations Manager at Aberdeen City Council, said, “We are delighted to be able to offer our staff this new, innovative and convenient service allowing staff to pre-order and pay for their lunch from the comfort of their own desk.”
sQuid work with cashless campuses, schools, universities and retailers across the UK, enabling cashless payments. Dominic Pope, Marketing Manager at sQuid, said, “This is another step on the sQuid payments journey to enable cashless pre-paid payments online as well as offline. We have had a lot of interest in this product and are looking forward to implementing it for other clients too.”
