LONDON - Keith MacGillivray - Chairman of The Fire Fighters Charity said: The Fire Fighters Charity would like to send its most sincere condolences to the family, friends and colleagues of the fire fighter who has tragically lost his life whilst tackling the deadly blaze in Edinburgh last night. Our thoughts are also with his injured colleague.

This event highlights the difficult and gruelling circumstances that fire fighters have to face daily, which can often tragically end with harsh consequences. Every year thousands of firefighters are injured whilst carrying out their duties.

The Fire Fighters Charity is here to support the families involved, and will provide the therapy and rehabilitation required for those fire fighters injured in the blaze.”
