By Cazenove And Loyd, PRNEMonday, March 7, 2011
LONDON, March 8, 2011 - cazenove+loyd have teamed up with camera and optics specialist Leica to
launch a 'Travel Photographer of the Year' competition for 2011.
Each month from January to December 2011, budding photographers will be
invited to submit up to five photographs taken in one of cazenove+loyd's
three areas of expertise: Africa+Indian Ocean, South+South East Asia and
Central+South America.
The 12 winning entries, one from each month, will be shown at an
exhibition in Central London in early 2012. The cazenove+loyd Leica Travel
Photographer of the Year will be announced at the opening of the exhibition
and presented with a Leica X1 digital camera and accessories worth GBP1,400.
Christopher Wilmot-Sitwell, director of cazenove+loyd, said: "We are
looking for an inspirational photographer, who captures the beauty and
essence of a country's culture, people, land or wildlife.
"Many of our clients are amateur photographers and we are encouraging
them and other keen photographers to send in images that reflect individual
experiences and a passion for travel.
"In support of this, cazenove+loyd are inviting every client who books a
holiday in 2011, to attend a workshop at the specialist Leica Akademie in
London's Mayfair."
The judges of the competition are Leica UK managing director David Bell,
photographer Will Cheung and award-winning journalist Jonathan Margolis.
Between them they'll select a monthly winner who, in addition to winning a
Leica prize, will go forward to the final which will be voted online by the
public. The competition is open to anyone over 18, including journalists and
professional photographers.
Entries for March 2011's monthly prize can be uploaded now on
cazenove+loyd's re-designed website: leica.cazloyd.com where you'll
also be able to see the winning images for January and February.
