BancTec's IntelliScan(R)–Better, Faster, More Value
By Banctec Inc., PRNEThursday, April 8, 2010
DALLAS, April 9, 2010 - BancTec Inc. (www.banctec.com/), a global provider of advanced,
high-volume, document and payment processing solutions and services, is
delivering more value, for less money, with updates to its IntelliScan line
(www.banctec.com/products/intelliscan/ ) of high-volume production
scanners and its IntelliScan(R) USC
(www.banctec.com/products/intelliscan/intelliscan-usc/ ) scanner
control software.
Already recognized for its robust, enterprise-class capabilities, the
IntelliScan suite of solutions now provides even better performance, with
updates that focus on speed, user control and image quality. At the same
time, BancTec has lowered the price of its scanner for mid-volume and
distributed environments, now called the IntelliScan(R) SDS+
(www.banctec.com/products/intelliscan/intelliscan-sds/ ). As a result,
customers can process documents more efficiently, and at lower total cost per
image scanned. Specific updates to the IntelliScan SDS+ include:
- Increased speed. The IntelliScan SDS+ received a 28 percent increase in speed, from 200 to 255 pages per minute. - Uncompressed image capability. The IntelliScan SDS+ is now the fastest known commercial scanner at producing uncompressed, 24-bit color images at 300 DPI. As a result, in situations where it is required, customers will be able to generate maximum quality, "lossless" color scans in less time. - New recognition capabilities. The IntelliScan SDS+ can now handle a wider variety of forms, increasing the number of processes for which it is a suitable alternative.
IntelliScan USC, BancTec's fully integrated capture and transport control
application, has also been updated. Specifically, the application possesses
enhanced image quality analysis capabilities, as well as stronger real-time
forms processing and document recognition. Whether used along with BancTec's
IntelliScan hardware, or with other third party scanners, these changes
improve the solution's functionality and broaden the number of areas in which
it can be deployed. In addition, USC now provides support for most major
languages worldwide.
Enhancements have also made the IntelliScan(R) XDS
(www.banctec.com/products/intelliscan/intelliscan-xds/ ) - BancTec's
enterprise-class, multi-application, high-speed scanner-an even better value
as well. First, BancTec's patented TurboTime(TM) feature has received a boost
in speed. Previously rated at 375 pages per minute (ppm) at 200 dpi image
capture and 240 pages at 300 dpi, the scanner can now process documents at a
rate of 400 ppm at 200 dpi or 270 ppm at 300 dpi. Therefore, large scanning
tasks can be completed up to 12.5% faster. Furthermore, TurboTime now ships
with an initial capacity to process 1,000,000 pages at higher speeds.
Additional capacity may be added at any time. As a result, customers can
react quickly to changing volumes without overbuying processing capacity that
is otherwise unneeded.
