Carphone Warehouse Billionaire Charles Dunstone Tops Digital Rich List

The success of Carphone Warehouse and Talk Talk has made Charles Dunstone
Britain's first digital billionaire. Dunstone's GBP1,000m fortune puts him
top of the list of digital and online retailers in The Sunday Times Rich List

2011 this weekend.
The 23rd annual Sunday Times Rich List - the definitive guide to wealth
in Britain and Ireland - is published as an extra 104-page magazine, free
with the paper on Sunday.
All the 10 top digital and online retailers in the 2011 Sunday Times Rich
List have enjoyed significant increases in their personal wealth since last
year's Rich List was published. The success of online shopping has tripled
the fortunes of fashion retailers Johnnie Boden, now worth GBP310m, and Nick
Robertson, founder of Asos, who now has a GBP177m fortune.
The Jersey-based entertainment mail-order business Play.com, which
specialises in Vat-free DVDs and CDs, has produced fortunes of GBP160m a
piece for owners Richard Goulding and Simon Perree.
New entries to the online retailing list include Hayley Parsons, 37, who
has carved out a GBP95m fortune with insurance comparison site Gocompare.com.
The list of Online Gambling millionaires is headed by father and
daughter, Peter and Denise Coates, owners of Bet365, who share a GBP750m
fortune. Peter Coates is chairman of Stoke City Football Club.
Among the Young Rich in the list, aged 30 and under, Sam Barnett, 27, has
amassed a GBP40m fortune with Struq, which provides retailers with
personalised ads on the web. Daniel Ek, 28, a Swede based in London, is worth
GBP15m on the strength of his stake in the internet music service Spotify.
Another 28-year-old, Richard Jones has made a GBP15m fortune with
Audioscrobbler.
The tables below only include people who derive their main wealth from
digital and online businesses.
