Christie Chooses IBC 2011 for Largest Ever New Product Showcase

IBC – Christie® returns to IBC in Amsterdam for the eighth time with a dynamic stand (Hall 9, B30), showing a wide portfolio of innovative products and solutions, including an inspiring broadcast studio set.
Christie’s largest showcase of new technology seen in EMEA to date; at least seven new Christie products and solutions will either be launched or previewed in EMEA at the show.
Speaking of the company’s enhanced level of participation, Dale Miller, Vice President, Christie EMEA, stated: “We are pleased to be able to introduce so many new products at IBC, including our latest non-cinema 4K projector to audiences in the EMEA territories. We are equally delighted to be back as the official D-Cinema technology partner for the IBC D-Cinema conference programme, and to have the opportunity to gives attendees to the exhibitor sessions a chance to view the state of the art in projection and join in high-profile screenings.”
To that end, James Cameron will make a presentation on Friday, September 9th, on 3D Myth Busters: James Cameron and Vince Pace on the Business of 3D, using Christie projectors, while Dr Don Shaw, Director, Product Management for Christie’s Entertainment Solutions Division will present Exhibitor Considerations for High Frame Rate 3D Technology as part of the IBC A Stereoscopic Glimpse into the Future session, immediately prior to Cameron’s September 12th presentation.
Christie’s next generation of 2K and 4K DLP Cinema® projection systems will be used to support all presentations at the IBC Big Screen Experience throughout the show, including the Big Screen Saturday Night Movie: Transformers 3: Dark Of The Moon in Digital 3D (RAI Auditorium, September 10), and the D-Cinema Conference in the RAI Theatre on September 12th, which centres on all things 3D - from post-production to live transmission. This latter presentation will showcase some of the latest digital 3D content including and an amazing 18-minute reel of James Cameron’s Titanic in 3D; Flying Monsters and The Royal Wedding.
Among systems and devices on view in Europe for the first time are the following:
Christie J Series, which marks the next generation of its 3-chip DLP® Xenon platform, will make its worldwide debut at IBC 2011. Launched also are the Christie LX1200: filling the market need for a high brightness, low cost projector providing radiant imagery and finer contrast; and the Christie LHD700: a 7000 lumens full HD 1080p (1920 x 1080) resolution projector utilising a single lamp and 4DColor technology.
Also showcased: The Christie D4K35 is 4K DLP projection system aimed at demanding non-cinema applications and the Christie FHD551-X: a backlit LED panel for command and control applications. Finally, the Christie Interactivity Kit and Christie® JumpStart in an inspiring studio-set concept with content relevant to broadcasting applications by Baanto International.
