Easy-to-use Mobiles now Connect Seamlessly With Leading Diabetes Management Solution and Provide One-Touch Medication Reminder Service
LUND, Sweden, February 15, 2011 - Doro is revealing the first strategic elements of its global mHealth
initiative. The company's mobiles will now be used for the delivery of care
assistance services and solutions.
Jerome Arnaud, President and CEO of Doro said: "The delivery of mobile
health solutions poses huge benefits. With over 1.2 million users, our
knowledge of mobile design and interface adaption for the senior audience is
winning. Our expertise has been instrumental in driving the advance of new
applications specifically for health and wellbeing. The first of our mHealth
partnerships lead us into exciting new horizons and the next chapter in the
growth of easy-to-use, senior-focused mobiles."
MyGlucoHealth
Doro and MyGlucoHealth will provide a mobile solution to improve the
management of diabetes. MyGlucoHealth's testing device will integrate with
some of Doro's easy mobiles. The solution will simplify the uploading of data
from blood tests via SMS into a secure portal - this will improve remote
monitoring. The portal provides feedback and advice to the user to help
better manage their diabetes.
John Hendel, Chairman of MyGlucoHealth.com said: "We have a strong desire
to maintain our position as the pioneering mHealth solution. By partnering
with Doro, we will continue to lead this area especially within the
senior-focused market."
Medixine
Doro and Finnish company Medixine will deliver a one-touch medication
reminder service via Doro's easy-to-use mobiles. Doro EasyMed Reminder is an
integrated service enabling users to better manage prescription medications
and improve compliance of prescription drugs. The service provides a one key
automated SMS mechanism to register that a medicine has been taken. The
system holds prescription details and uses reminders to ensure drugs are
taken correctly.
One third of people aged +65yrs, frequently forget to take prescribed
medicines, conditions as dementia can exacerbate the situation. If seniors
are able to better manage their medicines they may be able to remain in their
own homes longer - reducing the financial impact of an aged society.
Dr Tapio Jokinen, CEO of Medixine said: "Medixine is constantly looking
for ways to lower the barrier for citizens to use e-health services. Doro
phones offer the ideal platform for mHealth applications to reach the
elderly."
