Ekulo Cheyenne at OML 123, Commences Work for Addax Petroleum

ABUJA, Nigeria, March 21, 2011 - Kaztec Engineering Limited, an Abuja based engineering, procurement,
construction, installation and commission (EPCIC) company and owners of Ekulo
Cheyenne and Ekulo Tornado said that Ekulo Cheyenne is now at OML 123,
Calabar, Cross River State, Nigeria, and had commenced work for Addax
Petroleum Development Nigeria Limited.
In a statement released in Abuja today, the Project Manager, Kaztec
Engineering Limited, Rick Reggio said 'the 350 ft by 100 ft by 25 ft depth
pipelay/ derrick and construction barge, Ekulo Cheyenne is expected to
execute TB - 1921 Call-Off Contract for installation of subsea pipelines and
topsides for Addax Petroleum Development Nigeria Limited. This
installation-focused contract will enable the various facilities currently
being designed and manufactured to be collected, shipped to site, craned into
position and hooked up together with the laying of interconnecting pipelines
and installation of associated riser systems'.
Expatiating on the project, David Jeeves, Quality Assurance & Quality
Control (QAQC) Manager said, 'the project is designed to meet field
development goals including 'flares down', wherein a new facility is planned
to expand the existing Adanga complex, to provide gas compression and
additional production separation capacity, with central power generation for
the entire Adanga complex'
Reacting to questions on the deployment of Ekulo Cheyenne to OML 123, the
Chairman of Kaztec Engineering Limited Sir Emeka Offor said that 'the
acquisition of Ekulo Cheyenne is in line with the growth strategy of Kaztec
Engineering Limited. We are at the vanguard of the Nigerian Government Policy
for 'local content' in the oil and gas industry. The fact that Kaztec
Engineering Limited was chosen to handle this contract, is an eloquent
testimony of the trust and confidence that Addax Petroleum Development
Limited management have in Kaztec Engineering Limited especially, and local
EPCs generally'.
Explaining the company's interest and commercial diversity of Ekulo
Cheyenne, the Chief Operating Officer, Kaztec Engineering Limited, Ike Okpala
said that ' apart from using the barge for projects like the one it is
involved in at the moment for Addax Petroleum Development Limited, Ekulo
Cheyenne is also available for hire to any company that may need its
services.'
He urged companies involved in the laying of pipelines and offshore
construction work especially around the Gulf Of Guinea to take advantage of
this offer.
