Fast Track to Temperature Tracking
By Melexis, PRNETuesday, March 9, 2010
YPRES, France, March 10, 2010 - Melexis, an early and innovative semiconductor player in the RFID market,
and ProximaRF, a provider of versatile HF reader solutions, join their forces
to enable fast and easy development of Data Logging applications. The RFID
Sensor Kit (DVK90129) will help implementation of RFID technology in
applications such as cold chain management, industrial data logger or medical
monitoring devices. The product will be presented at HDMA 2010, in Baltimore
on Monday March 15 at the ProximaRF booth (217).
The RFID sensor kit (DVK90129) demonstrates the MLX90129, a
contactless sensing system on a chip which embeds a versatile sensor
interface, internal temperature sensor, data storage memory and an
ISO/IEC15693 RFID tag front end. The MLX90129 was previously introduced
during the Sensor + Test exhibition in Nuremberg last May. The RFID Sensor
Kit is composed of an evaluation board featuring the MLX90129, the plug and
play Proxima RF desktop reader (FCC certified), its interface software and
API together with the related licenses.
"For many years, we focus on providing RFID turnkey solutions
for high end application, like readers for anti counterfeiting and module for
handheld computers" said Terry Rachwalski, VP, Business Development of
Proxima RF. "The Melexis Sensor Tag IC embeds the majority of the requested
features and functions used in cold chain monitoring applications. With the
RFID sensor kit, we will enable integrators to quickly develop and propose
effective solutions for temperature monitoring to the supply chain actors."
Gilles Cerede, Product Line Manager at Melexis comments: "When
we started to introduce the MLX90129 on the market, we anticipated two
questions from our customers: What about the reader? What about the system
integration? With the Proxima RF reader, we give the developers the insurance
that beside the compatibility of the MLX90129 with the ISO15692 international
RFID standard, it is supported by certified readers available "off the
shelves". The user friendly software and flexible API allows a fast and easy
interface to an existing implementation."
The RFID Sensor Kit (DVK90129) is available now through both
Melexis and Proxima RF sales channels
