First Edition of Antwerp Diamond Trade Fair Starts February 7, Hosting an Exclusive Group of European Diamond Buyers

ANTWERP, February 2 - The Antwerp Diamond Bourse - de Beurs voor Diamanthandel -
will open its doors to welcome an exclusive group of jewellers and diamond
buyers to the first-ever Antwerp Diamond Trade Fair. The by-invitation-only
diamond trade fair will be held February 7-9, on the bourse's historical
trading floor, which has been converted into a stylish exhibition hall. More
than 40 of Antwerp's leading diamond firms will display their diamonds in
elegantly designed booths at the three-day event, the first of its kind to be
held anywhere in the world.

Bourse president Artur Beller said more than 120 companies
from all over Europe had confirmed their participation at the show. "The
invited buyers and guests will see the Antwerp diamond trade in its full
glory during the three days of the fair," he noted. "Never before has
Antwerp's diamond business community offered such a large, outstanding and
varied selection of polished diamonds for sale at a single location. This
will be an extraordinary and literally unique occasion."

The fair's guests will also be well taken care of with
sparkling events planned for the evenings of the show. On February 7, the
guests will be hosted at a chic gala dinner and honored by the presence of
Mr. Kris Peeters, the Minister-President of Flanders and of Ms. Cathy Berx,
governor of the province of Antwerp. On Monday February 8, Antwerp's mayor
Patrick Janssens and his bench of aldermen will host a reception in honor of
the Antwerp Diamond Trade Fair's guests. At that occasion, the Antwerp
Diamond Bourse indicated it will announce a contribution to the Belgian
relief fund for Haiti.
