Forget Armchair Pundits: Now Football Fans are Getting the Chance to Have Their say in a Unique Online Initiative
By Winkball, PRNESunday, November 29, 2009
LONDON, December 1 - WinkBall.com is the UK's fastest growing website and their team of 50
reporters have 'swooped' to every Premier League match this season, asking
fans what they think of the match, the players, the manager, the ref and the
result…
It's the first time fans have had the chance to act as citizen
journalists, instantly give their reaction to the match and see their
opinions immediately.
Thousands of views have been uploaded to www.winkball.com giving
the fans a 'video voice' and a unique platform.
Video communication experts WinkBall.com have also got the fans' low down
at Championship games, as well as mighty clashes in the Champions League,
Europa Cup, and Carling Cup. Other internationals featured on WinkBall.com
include World Cup qualifiers, international friendly matches and celebrity
charity matches.

Winkball co-founder Dr James Ohene-Djan said:
"WinkBall is at the cutting edge of on line communication and encourages
online debate through its public video walls. These allow users to post their
views and opinions on specific topics as video message discussions. Football
fans always have something to say and our walls give them a perfect
opportunity to share their views".
The first major demonstration of Winkball technology came with a unique
social project - a video archive of the 2009 Notting Hill Carnival. People
shared their experience of Carnival through video blogs, by uploading their
video material and speaking on video to WinkBall reporters throughout
Carnival itself.
WinkBall has also launched its Faces for the Forces campaign,
backed by the Royal British Legion. It's a nationwide campaign, which aims to
collect 1 million video messages of support for the Armed Forces.
