LONDON, February 16, 2011 - In a video interview with financial broadcaster www.cantos.com,
Game Group CEO Ian Shepherd talks about his strategic direction and the
company's overall ambition of being "Dedicated to Gaming".
He highlights the sharp focus on building the online proposition,
revamping the retail stores and maximising the value of the 16m reward
cardholders.
"There's five elements of strategy underneath "Dedicated to Gaming". They
are applicable across all of our international markets, and as we deploy them
we will gain share, we will gain customers, and we will deliver a fantastic
return for our shareholders."
Shepherd rebuts many of the traditional challenges that are associated
with Game Group including the threat posed by general retailers, its
dependence on the console launch cycle and the prospect of direct
distribution by developers.
